Brooklyn Prospect Charter School students tackle global issues with Google for Education tools

Brooklyn Prospect Charter needed a way to give its socially conscious student body access to the Internet and the cloud to research and collaborate on global issues. The technology-progressive school has a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) programme to give high school students and staff the opportunity to choose the devices that work best for them. Because of this, they were looking for a technology solution that worked across devices. The faculty also wanted to provide teachers with more professional development resources

'Students are excited by technology. It motivates them to go above and beyond.'

Tyra Frederick, Brooklyn Prospect Charter, Educational Technology Coordinator and High School English Teacher

Brooklyn Prospect Charter schools launched G Suite for Education, Chromebooks and Google Classroom for all students and teachers. 'We had strong faculty buy-in. Teachers and staff have been using Gmail since day one and actively use G Suite for Education to share information and collaborate,' says Tyra Frederick, educational technology instructor and high school English teacher at Brooklyn Prospect Charter.
